LxMenu creates broken XHTML - 2006/01/23 23:38 Hi!

I have just tried LxMenu Free to see if I should invest into LxMenu Pro.

I have found that LxMenu Free outputs broken XHTML, by using the style element outside the document head. IIRC this is not allowed in any version of HTML and certainly the W3C html validator rejects it.

I don't know if Joomla offers a way for components or modules to insert code into the header. If not, I guess the only way to do it, would be to use the style attribute inside the HTML tags.

Once this is fixed, I will buy the pro version.

TIA,
Julian Zimmerle

Re:LxMenu creates broken XHTML - 2006/01/24 00:02 Great, thanks.
While you're on it: I also just checked the CSS code itself. While no errors were generated, the W3C css validator issued a few warnings:

You have no color with your background-color : .mainmenu_l0oout
You have no color with your background-color : .mainmenu_l0oover
You have no color with your background-color : .mainmenu_l1oout
You have no color with your background-color : .mainmenu_l1oover
font-family: You are encouraged to offer a generic family as a last alternative

These should be really easy to fix, I guess.

Re:LxMenu creates broken XHTML - 2006/04/16 01:59 any news? have you correct it?

I always have a w3c error with the lxmenu free!

This is the error (I found it in the module page):

Error Line 107 column 22: document type does not allow element "style" here.

<style type="text/css">

The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style" element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements that overlap (which is not allowed).

One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the "body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported error).

Re:LxMenu creates broken XHTML - 2006/04/18 21:15 Hi zel,

please send an email to info@menu4joomla.com.
I'll then send a preview release of LxMenu Free to you which I'm currently working on.
