Re:Instalation steps - 2005/06/07 10:30
Hi Hudy,
if you use a fresh installation of mambo then you should open the LxMenu component (components/Lxmenu). Don't change anything in the component but save it only. After the first saving of the components settings the LxMenu module should be created. Now go to Modules/Site Modules and set the filter (first dropdown box on top right) to position "left". Now you should see all the modules having the position left. Increase the dropdown box "Display #" (at bottom of the site) to list all modules on one page. The LxMenu module should be initially placed at the last row and it may be unpublished. You should now publish it and if you like you can change the order number to place the LxMenu module somewhere on top.
Now LxMenu should appear on the frontend (left side) beside the default mambo menu. If you want to disable the native mambo menu you have to go back to the site modules and unpublish the module named "Main Menu" (type mod_mainmenu).
Now as you know how it works, you can go to LxMenu component and change the look and feel from the menu as you like.
Good luck, Georg Lorenz
